Frequently asked questions
What are milk cocoa drops?
Milk cocoa drops are creamy drops of real milk chocolate made for baking, melting and snacking. Ours combine 43% single origin Costa Rican cocoa with whole milk powder and cocoa butter, giving a smooth, gently sweet chocolate that melts into soft pockets in cookies and cakes.
Is 43% cocoa high for milk chocolate?
Yes, noticeably high. Most supermarket milk chocolate contains only 25 to 35% cocoa, so at 43% our drops deliver a deeper, more genuine chocolate flavour while keeping the creamy sweetness milk chocolate lovers want. You taste more cocoa and less plain sugar.
Are milk cocoa drops vegan?
No. These drops contain 22.8% whole milk powder, which gives them their signature creamy texture, so they are vegetarian but not vegan. If you need a dairy free option, our 54% Cocoa Drops and 70% Dark Cocoa Drops are both fully vegan.
Are milk cocoa drops suitable for kids?
Yes, they are a family favourite. The gentle sweetness and creamy texture make them the most kid friendly drops in our range, whether folded into cookies, melted over pancakes or enjoyed as a small snack. Like all chocolate, they contain a little natural caffeine, so sensible portions apply.
Do milk cocoa drops melt well?
Yes, beautifully. With 25.4% cocoa butter, they melt smooth and glossy, making them ideal for sauces, glazes, frostings and drizzles. Melt them gently over low heat or in short microwave bursts, since milk chocolate scorches more easily than dark.
Should I bake with milk or dark cocoa drops?
It depends on the bake. Milk drops shine in cookies, blondies, babka and anything aimed at a sweeter crowd, while dark drops suit brownies, ganache and intense desserts. Many bakers mix both for balanced flavour, and the two melt equally well.
Are milk cocoa drops halal and gluten free?
Yes. They are certified halal, organic and gluten free, made with no artificial additives. The ingredient list is short and honest: cane sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, cocoa nibs and a touch of sunflower lecithin. Note that they do contain milk.
