Frequently asked questions
What are dark cocoa drops?
Dark cocoa drops are small drops of 70% dark chocolate made for melting, baking and snacking. Ours contain just cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, cane sugar and a touch of sunflower lecithin, delivering a deep, velvety chocolate with hints of roasted coffee and dried fig.
Is 70% dark chocolate healthy?
In moderate amounts, yes. A 70% cocoa content means more antioxidant rich cocoa and less sugar than milk or semi sweet chocolate. Our drops contain 23.6 g of sugar and 14.5 g of fibre per 100 g, roughly half the sugar of typical milk chocolate.
Do dark cocoa drops taste bitter?
Pleasantly intense rather than harsh. At 70% cocoa you get bold, concentrated chocolate depth with notes of roasted coffee and dried fig, balanced by natural cocoa butter smoothness. Dark chocolate lovers will feel at home, and in bakes the intensity mellows beautifully.
What is the difference between 54% and 70% cocoa drops?
The cocoa content and sweetness. Our 54% Cocoa Drops are smoother and sweeter, ideal for cookies, snacking and family bakes, while the 70% Dark Cocoa Drops give a bolder, less sweet chocolate hit that shines in ganache, brownies and rich desserts.
Are dark cocoa drops good for ganache?
Yes, they are ideal for it. The high cocoa butter content gives a super smooth, even melt, so you get a glossy, silky ganache every time. Simply pour heated cream over the drops, wait a minute, then stir slowly until rich and smooth.
Are dark cocoa drops vegan and dairy free?
Yes. They contain no milk and no animal ingredients at all, only cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, cane sugar and sunflower lecithin. That makes them fully vegan, dairy free, gluten free and halal, which is rare for chocolate this creamy.
How much sugar is in dark cocoa drops?
23.6 g per 100 g, which is less than half of what most milk chocolate contains. A typical 25 g serving delivers about 6 g of sugar and 145 calories, making these drops one of the more sensible ways to enjoy real chocolate daily.
