Kladdkaka is a classic Swedish cake known for its irresistibly gooey center and crisp, crackly top. Made with rich cocoa and simple ingredients, this easy-to-make treat has a texture between brownies and molten cake.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan
    Preheat oven to 140°C and grease and line a 20cm springform pan.
  2. Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients
    Mix melted butter, sugar, flour and cocoa together until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs
    Beat 3 eggs together, then add them to the mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  4. Pour Batter into Pan and bake
    Pour the cake mixture into the prepared springform pan. Place the springform pan in the oven and bake for 29 to 35 minutes. For a soft and gooey cake, bake until just done; the longer it bakes, the more the batter will set.
  5. Serve
    Let the cake cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, transfer the cake to a plate and sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
