This homemade chocolate spread serves as a healthier alternative to store-bought options. Naturally sweetened with dates and rich in hazelnut flavor, it’s perfect for spreading on toast, pancakes, or just enjoying straight from the jar!

  1. Prepare the Dates
    Deseed the Medjool dates and soak them in water for at least 3 hours or overnight for better results.
  2. Roast the Hazelnuts
    Briefly toast the skinless hazelnuts in a dry frying pan to enhance their flavor, or use pre-roasted hazelnuts.
  3. Blend Ingredients
    Add the soaked dates, roasted hazelnuts, cocoa powder, and melted coconut oil to a chopper or food processor. Blend until smooth. Add small amounts of water to achieve the desired spreadable consistency.
  4. Store
    Transfer the spread into a clean, dry jar and store it in the refrigerator. Use within four days.
